What Photovoice is.

People photograph what they see and experience, then say in their own words what each photograph means. Facilitated dialogue draws out shared strengths and concerns, and the group takes part in naming the themes.

Findings are confirmed with the community before they are treated as findings. The participant, not the facilitator, is the expert on their own story.

Ask before you commit.

A short answer to a real methodology question. Guidance suggests and organizes; people create the meaning, and communities confirm the findings.
